IN BED
How do you prepare for tomorrow the night before?
I have a pretty solid beauty routine that I prioritise before bed. I believe that it only really makes a difference if you’re consistent with it. I love the La Mer hydration sheet masks so sometimes to unwind I’ll do a mask and take a bath. I also love products from Paula’s Choice, Verso, and Kate Somerville. I’m a beauty junkie so I’m always excited to try new, good-quality products.
What do you wear to bed?
Either nothing or our ANINE BING cotton pajamas with a tee.
What is on your nightstand?
The Savage Rose candle from my line because it helps me relax and smells so good, even when it’s not lit.
Who do you sleep with?
My husband and sometimes our two kids!
How many hours do you sleep?
Sleep is so important to me, so I try to stay very consistent with it and get a solid 8 hours.
What time do you wake up?
I go to bed every night at 10pm and am up by 6am to get the day started and the kids ready for school. My body is in a pretty specific rhythm with sleep now.
What is the first thing you do on waking?
Kiss my kids and check my email and Shopify to see how the business did overnight.
BODY
How do you work out?
I’ve really made a point to work out more. For the first few years being a mom, I never had time and didn’t make the time to work out. But now that they’re a little older, I really try to do it at least once a week. I love hiking or taking long walks with the family, and then for something more intense, I will do power yoga or a class by LEKFIT, my friend Lauren Kleban’s exercise studio. It’s a serious workout.
How often do you exercise?
I try at least once a week, but if I have more time then I’ll try for more.
How do you motivate yourself when you don’t feel like exercising?
I used to not feel so motivated to work out, but now that I’ve made it a part of my routine, it makes me feel amazing afterward. I try hard to channel that rewarding feeling that you get - the little high you get from breaking a sweat and remember it when I start to feel lazy. It's becoming like therapy for me and gets me in such a good place mentally.
What is your first drink of the day and why?
Usually a glass of alkaline water and then a soy latte. I love turmeric lattes too.
What is for breakfast and why?
I love avocado toast and eggs, but most mornings I just eat something quick with the kids, like cereal. But now I am trying to make an effort to be a bit healthier and will start making smoothies with my WelleCo elixirs :) And always one cup of coffee.
FACE
What is your am beauty routine?
I’m pretty simple in the mornings. Right now I’m using a few products from Dermalogica. I love the gentle cleanser, and then I use the Daily Microfoliant to exfoliate my face. From there I usually use a serum from La Mer. Then I follow up with a moisturizer that has SPF in it.
What are your go-to beauty products?
I’m loving Oribe products for hair right now. I’m super picky about my hair and I feel like products from their line really give me that undone look that feels the most natural to me. I really love anything by La Mer or Kate Somerville. The Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Toner, I feel like it really makes me glow when I’m consistent with it, or if the weather is affecting my skin in any way.
What makeup products do you prefer?
I don’t do too much during the day when I’m heading into the office or spending time with the family. For my skin I like Baby It’s Gold Outside by MAC and 320 Rouge Blush by Chanel. As always I love the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara, no matter how many different brands I try, it’s still my favourite. I don’t usually wear lipstick, so I’m loving Supergoop! Perk Up! Lip and Cheek Treat. It’s super subtle but adds a little colour.
What is your standby routine for awakening a tired face?
Sleep, water and avoid alcohol. No matter what you do to your skin topically, I think you just have to get enough sleep, eat well, and drink tons of water to stay hydrated. We’re always looking for shortcuts, and I think certain products can give a little glow or freshness, but ultimately, it’s how you treat your body that counts the most. And those La Mer Hydration masks I mentioned.
WORK
What is the first thing you do?
In the morning I check my email and check in with Instagram – it’s super important to stay in touch with our community, so I usually take a minute to respond to DMs or questions about the collection. I don’t always get to do it, but I love to engage when I have the time. If I have some time to myself, I’ll also write down my goals or thoughts I have that day.
What is top of your to-do list?
Reference my calendar to see what I have on the docket for the day. Whether it’s meetings at the office with my team, a day spent with my design team, or running around for appointments outside the office.
What is your 10am pick-me-up for energy?
I love the green juices from Pressed Juice, they are always super fresh and give me just enough energy in the mornings. We keep our office stocked with fresh juices throughout the week.
